Arnold Levy, M.D., has been in the private practice of gastroenterology in Montgomery County, Md., since 1977. Over the past 34 years, Dr. Levy had the privilege of caring for patients with a wide range of digestive disorders and performing thousands of endoscopic procedures in the diagnosis and care of those patients’ problems. His analytical approach to his patients is that of viewing “the entire problem” in as conservative and comprehensive manner as possible.
Dr. Levy is the president and CEO of Capital Digestive Care, LLC and the previous managing partner of the Capital Gastroenterology Consultants division. He has been recognized by his peers numerous times as a “Top Doctor” in Washingtonian magazine, including in the most recent issue in 2010. He is a Delaware native, and has been educated at The George Washington University, the University of Rochester and at the National Institutes of Health. His educational honors include membership in Phi Beta Kappa and Alpha Omega Alpha (medical honor society).
Over the years, he has maintained an active role in his profession, both in teaching and by participating in multiple medical organizations. He is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and an associate clinical professor of Medicine at The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. He has served on the National Digestive Diseases Advisory Board, on the Board of the National Digestive Disease Information Clearing House as the director of Continuing Medical Education at Holy Cross Hospital of Silver Spring, and as the medical director of Holy Cross Hospital Home Care. Dr. Levy has also served in leadership positions of many local community organizations including the American Cancer Society and the Metro Maryland Ostomy Association.
He enjoys ballroom dancing with his wife, spending time on the Chesapeake Bay and spending time with his family.
